there 's an angel at my table...

While my " angels" were baking angels....

I made rusks and made my dreams come true, am not such a great baker and they turned out "dam" good...

Rusks come from South Africa, I managed to ge a recipe from a great local lady.
6 x cup flour, 3 x cup all bran flakes, ½ cup sunflower seeds, 8 teaspoon baking powder, 250 gr butter, 2 cup sugar, 1 cup oil, 1 ½ cups buttermilk and 2 eggs.

Mix the flower,  all bran flakes, sunflower seeds and baking powder together. Mix the butter, sugar, oil in a pot until melted and take off the heat. Add the buttermilk and eggs to the melted butter mixture. Add the flour mixture. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 1 ½ hours. Allow to cool and then cut. Bake at the oven at 50 degrees until dry.

    Your rusks look FAB. Glad I am not eating them though....can hardly fit into my pants as it is
