Maartje van den Noort

Since Maartje was young she liked to draw the world around her. And she still does. Birds, leaves, trees, cars, empty buildings, people… The canvasses vary between good old paper or found fabrics and windows or walls. Whatever is at hand. You can enjoy her finds through her work in illustration/graphic design, painting, etching and drawing. Her birds are magnificent too....
This polymer print is hand printed in an edition of 50 pieces. Every single print is numbered and signed so you can have your own unique one. The prints were printed on a traditional letterpress at a graphic workspace in Amsterdam called Grafisch Werkcentrum Amsterdam.

Postcard with dandelion seeds (paardenbloem, also known as horse flower).
Dandelion leafs contain vitamin C, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, thiamin, riboflavin, beta carotene and fiber. They are actually more nutritious than most of the fruits and vegetables you can buy in the grocery store.
try growing dandelions in the shade. This will blanch the leaves some and will result in a less bitter leaf. Alternately, you can manually blanch the dandelion leaves by covering the plants a few days before you are ready to harvest.
The sap in the flowerstalk is poisonous though, so try to avoid this.
Make a wish...
