Restored Amsterdam

Restored is one of my favorite stores in Amsterdam. Authentic, original products that are all made with passion, lots of variety and they have the (X-mas) balls to try and give young designers a chance.... Good thing is, the store does really well, meaning there are more and more people out there going for this stuff...i like this progress...
"Restored collects and sells unique products, for you to browse, own, and cherish. We focus on representing talented young designers, and offering them a platform to bring their products and visions to a wider public. On display in our store you will find beautiful garments, accessories, items for your interior, magazines and more. The products are manufactured with attention to craftsmanship. They have innovative details, are hand made and produced in small quantities. Restored is all about beauty, balance and originality. We believe in an honest approach and a sincere interest in people and products. We love to participate in co-creating a God-fashioned-world, where all fits together. We keep faith with the rubble around and find lots of pretty glimpses of hope to share. You’re welcome". Isn't that a nice message..Here's two of their goodies, but there is much much more....

Designers Alissa + Nienke work by several methods of experimentation. Their latest series of cups is the result of a material experiment using pigment and porcelain. It is a research into the flowing of colors through liquid clay, resulting in a series of unique handmade cups. By linking shapes to colors, they created space for experiment. Their cups might be messy or fixed, colorful or subtle, but are always guided by the flowing of the clay. The technique of pouring becomes visible in the final product. Following the drawings made in the clay leads to discovery of the movements we made. Kind of let go and see what happens..

European craftsmanship is the main focus of the Dutch initiative By Mölle. Their graphic plaids are produced in a limited edition and woven in Yorkshire, England. By Mölle sets itself apart because of local sourcing and an interesting use of special materials. Such as the rare Jacob wool, a very strong material which carries beautiful grey and brown tones. Oooooh i lovvvv grey...Another inspiring product is a unique and soft plaid, made from recycled denim. They all deserve an honest place within our houses and hearts. Go have a look in their store...
